This children's American heritage costume is built to last and can be used for many different costumes throughout American History. Your child will be proud when they wear their historical costume to his or her school production or play.
Gaspar de Portolá Rovira (1716–1784) was a Spanish soldier, governor of Baja and Alta California (1767–1770), explorer and founder of San Diego and Monterey. He was born in Os de Balaguer, province of Lleida, in Catalonia, Crown of Aragon, of Catalan nobility. He was commissioned ensign in 1734, and lieutenant in 1743, and died in Spain in 1784.
We have recreated his iconic look with a superior poly-cotton blend fabric that retains quality while being easy to clean. The long military frock coat comes in blue and features a yellow contrasting yellow accents. Breeches are a rich red, also known as knickers, have elastic at the waist and both pant legs for a comfortable fit. This look comes complete with a red vest/waistcoat with attached jabot with velcro closure at the back of the neck. Please note this is not a full vest it is open in the back with a tie closure at the waist. This helps to ensure a comfortable fit for children.
