Shirts featuring mandarin collars became popular in America’s new colonies thanks to their combination of practicality and fashionable style. Boys, whose clothing mimicked that of their older brothers and fathers, began donning shirts with a mandarin collar during the 18th century. These boys’ colonial shirts had a short, unfolded collar that stood up against the neck. Perfect under a suit jacket or coat, the colonial mandarin collar shirt could also be adorned with a jabot or ruffles at the cuff for a fancier look.

If you are unsure of your measurements, please measure your favorite NON-STRETCH comparable garment.

When will the item I want be back in stock?
If you go to the listing: select the size and color you want, then click on the "let me know when it is back" button. ETSY will send you a message/email when we have restocked the item.
We have no control over who purchases each garment, nor do we have access to the restock requests/waiting list. Items are purchased on first-come-first-served bases.

This shirt is great. Just what we needed for a school project, and fast. It wasn't perfection--a few loose mis-stitches around button holes, somewhat thin/sheer fabric, and slightly smaller than expected, but as it's for a costume I'm overall very pleased.
