Ascot ties descended from the cravat. It became a separate entity sometime in the 1880s when upper-middle-class European men began to wear it on formal morning (i.e., daytime) occasions. One of these events, the Royal Ascot race meeting at the Ascot Racecourse, gave the ascot its name. The ascot was also commonly worn for business in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In the United States, "ascot" is another name for a cravat.
Our Ascot ties are made of a Satin Jacquard with velcro closure and a great complement to many of our Victorian costumes and outfits.

Please, refer to the size chart. The size chart is located as a photo in the listing, and the directions to measure are located on the size chart. We have made the size chart strictly on the costumes we have manufactured.
If you are unsure of your measurements, please measure your favorite NON-STRETCH comparable garment.

I got this item thinking it was substantially smaller. I should have contacted the seller first to verify the measurements of this garment, as it comes almost halfway down my torso and the neck is far too large. Without customization options, this is something I cannot recommend unless you are 6'5" and 200 pounds. Overall? My biggest complaint is with the fact I cannot do anything but doctor this item or discard it, as the shop will not take it back and has nothing similar that isn't long. The construction isn't bad, but it feels somewhat loose on the upper and under layers of fabric. Overall, I wouldn't say that it's poorly made, just without customization options. I asked the shop owner to include measurements in the future. It shipped quickly and arrived quickly. No complaints on delivery. I do not recommend this item.
